I love this DCHW daypack

The Summit pack is a perfect addition to my Junction 3400 ultralight system, which I use for both backpacking and travel. The Summit with its accessory pocket rolls up into a compact package weighing just over a pound, yet comfortably carries everything I need for a day’s fly fishing expedition, or my travel necessities, lunch, and full size laptop computer in padded case with power supply and mouse. I love how the woven DCHW material is softer and quieter than the DCH150 of my backpack, and its ruggedness needs no further mention. I was happy to find one that was still made in USA; I would be even happier if HMG made this an option in the future; I would pay extra for it. Not that I have anything against Mexico, I just believe in supporting American workers and their products.

Strikingly simple

I have been using the Summit (white) and the Stuff Pocket for about 6 months now. Great all around pack, that adapts well to most all outdoor single day adventures. So simple, yet really thought out. I’ve climbed, kayaked, bike-packed, and used it for one bag travel. No complaints.

If there is a V2 version in the future, please build in two internal straps or method to secure a small sit pad or sleeping pad for a back panel. Adding reflective material to the Stuff Pocket Webbing strip would also be much appreciated. Great pack none the less.

Solid and we'll built

This pack made me realize that I didn't need all of the bells and whistles I had been paying for with other brands. HMG keeps it simple and I've learned that's what want in a pack. All you need are porter water bottle holders and a versa and you're good to go

Just short of perfect.

I spent a lot of time looking for the perfect pack, and I think this summit pack has come as close as anything. It's perfect for me in every way EXCEPT it doesn't have a small stash pouch. I knew it already before purchasing, but it's still the one thing I dislike about the bag. I usually like keeping my wallet and keys or other small things in these pouches, but now it's all just in the bottom of the bag.
