Product Reviews and Questions
Warm Enough
I was worried a quilt would not keep me warm in freezing conditions. I read a couple reviews of that stated this was one of a couple quilts you could trust for late fall trips. Temps got down to 30 on the maiden voyage and I stayed warm. I’m in my mid 60’s with bad knees trying to fly fish the backcountry. Using the quilt instead of my sleeping bag knocked a couple pounds off my pack weight. Hoping it restrains it warm trip after trip. So far so good.
To fragile
The quality seems at first glance to be very good! But the fabric is definitely too fragile! If a fabric already has minimal damage through the manufacturing process, then it will not last long in use. I have the quilt after inspection immediately repacked and returned. My old quilt is 10d nylon, which seems to be a good compromise between weight and durability.
Very Warm & Light - Maybe too fragile
It's a good quilt that is light and very warm during the night (maybe even warmer than my comforter). It's easy to stuff into a 10L+ pod and quite soft on the inside. I give it four stars because it strikes me as a bit too fragile for the price. I've already had pilling come out after a couple of uses from the seams and am a little weary of the long term durability (1+years?) especially outdoors.
A fine quilt, like many other brands out there.
Paying a premium for the name. Several US brands do just as good of a job using US labor and at similar specs and pricing. Nothing super innovative about HMG products at this point. They are a good product, but utilizing foreign labor at their prices is very Patagonia.
One more happy customer here.
There is nothing I can complain about this quilt. Yes, it is expensive but worth it, delicate but feels durable as well. I use it with silk liner. I don't know if you have problem with the smell of down quilts, this one is inodorous. Very happy with my purchase.
