Product Reviews and Questions
Yes this works as advertised
I use it to hold a 33.8oz Smartwater bottle, I did not try other brands
Bottle holder
This was the worst my first hour into my 11 day hike. It kept flip flopping regardless of my cinching it securely.
Save your 50 bucks and pass on this item.
Good but bulky when not in use
I use this on my shoulder strap along with the HMG pouch on opposite chest/shoulder Strap. Not as versatile as a sack style water bottle holder from other ultralight gear suppliers. Also bulky when not in use.
It wasn't made for a Backpack strap
I purchased two bottle holders hoping they can be used on my Junction 3400 shoulder straps. Yes, they can be connected but no they weren't designed to be used in that way. Yes, you can DIY it to the strap but I ended up returning them. I've been in contact with HMG customer service and Tyson has helped me out greatly. It's strange HMG competitors have should strap water bottle holders and they don't. Tyson mention they are actively working on filling their product void. They were designed for a specific purpose for a specific backpack. I do not recommend them for backpack shoulder straps.
Handy
I have the Porter pack, and as I can’t use my camelpak with it -this water bottle holder is a great option. I like that you can clip it on to you pack at the handiest place/angle.
My only complaint is that I found that my smaller water bottle fell out a few times when I was scrambling over rocks etc. To be expected I guess, but that’s the only reason I took a star off.

Hey Clare,
Thanks for the review! We're glad you're liking your Porter Water Bottle Holder. I'm sorry that your smaller water bottles have slipped out of the pocket. Make sure that the bungee is secured tightly over the top of your bottles to prevent this from happening!
