    What an Incredible Pack...!
My 4400 Windrider exceeded all expectations during a 9 day trek on the John Muir Trail. It's by far my most treasured item of gear. Logical layout, weighs nothing, performs like it is made of iron. Fantastic!!!

    So Happy I Got This
It is SUPER comfortable. I love the fit for me, love the ample pockets on the belt, and I love how it works for everything. I've carried it climbing with just a fraction of its capacity, and love it for that as well.

    Add to my quiver

I have a junction 34 that I love. I needed a larger volume pack when I carry a bear can on longer no resupply trips. This hits the sweet spot with weight and comfort

    Best backpack ever

I completed a thru hike of the Foothills Trail in South Carolina wearing this pack and it is the best backpack I’ve owned. Everything makes sense on this pack and it is super comfortable. The dyneema protected all of my gear on several rainy days. I have no complaints at all. I feel like I hit a gold mine! I’ll be taking this pack on our thru hike attempt of the AT in March 2024. Thank you HMG!!

    Tough!

Recently hiked the Athens- Big Fork Trail in Ouachita National Forest, Arkansas. Working on the Backpacking merit badge with my son and his Scout Troop. My first time using the Windrider. My first long distance multi day backpacking trip. The pack weighed in at 47 pounds with five days food and four liters of water. My equipment isn’t all lightweight but food was the heaviest thing carried. The pack surprised me at how tough and and balanced it was. The material made me question it since the pack can fly away empty in a lite breeze. The material felt strong when loaded down and survived plenty of abuse. It doesn’t have a scratch or mark on it. After a few hours the straps started to dig in the shoulders when it was at its heaviest. The hip belt worked perfectly. I got the large size, my height is 5’9”. I also bought the versa Fanny pack and had it attached to the hip belt. I found it aggravating to fumble with and put it in the back webbing after the first day. I used it as an extra small pack for trips to the river and messing around after base camp set up. The versa is just big enough to carry the safety and comfort essentials. It will go with me in the future but I did not like attaching it to the belt or chest straps as it would get tangled up taking the pack on and off. The web back and side pockets hold quite a bit of gear. Being able to see it makes all the difference in grabbing what you need quickly. The only issue I had was the Scouts could see my…

    Customer Service

I ordered the pack on-line to take advantage of the sale. The pack was delivered earlier than expected. I have examined the pack and also took it to REI to check the fit. The fellow at REI commented on how well made it was (he had invited me to do knowing I was ordering it online because this store doesn't carry the Hyperlite brand). The pack felt great before that, but I wanted professional advise. I followed that up with a question to Hyperlite. The response was almost immediate. Everything so far about the experience has been great. Will be doing shakedown hikes soon and expect it to live up to its record.
