Product Reviews and Questions
It’s cool but ….
It’s pretty good at most things , tough sure , but it’s a little on the overdone side , it’s like wearing a lazy boy recliner - they should use the same materials on a version of the porter , I’ve since started to carry the arcetyrx alpha fl 30 instead , I bust out the northrim when I need extra capacity when hauling gear for my kids or glamping

I walked 4000+ miles with a 3400 NorthRim, and I say : a BIG Thank You !
Very impressed
So much to love about this pack
“The One Bag Quiver “?
I was looking for a “do everything well bag” . I’m not made of $ so this was a splurge for me . I chose the N. Rim due to the additional advertised robustness . This bag is a bit of a chameleon. I purchased the add on straps & they make a HUGE difference in versatility ( strapping on snow shoes , or a zlite etc) . The front pocket eats my avy shovel ! The roll top takes a little getting use to but is clutch in volumizing , there is no internal sleeve , just a loop . I hook a caribener & I clip my wallet & keys to it , works great . This pack imo carries better 20-30 # than less . Have had 47# & well it was 47# ( just sayin) The dirt patina it picks up is also cool ! I use it for the approach , summit , overnight , weeklong , fly fishing skiing etc ( chameleon ) I treat the bag like garbage & not 1 single issue . I would like to see a internal pocket like on the other packs , I would do away w/ 1 hip belt pocket in favor of 1 gear loop , & it would be nice to have the option of removing the hip belt ( I’m literally being hyper critical) . I highly recommend this pack if you can reach deep enough into your pockets - don’t overlook the accessory straps !!!!
