Product Reviews and Questions
5 STARS!
Perfect for my backpacking photo trips. This year it will join me on about 300 miles of trips.
Large Camera Pod
Awesome product. My Sony a7Rv with a Tamron 28-200mm fits perfectly. I highly recommend this pod.
Lightweight protection
Ok, for most people, it’s probably on the upper end of camera pods price wise. But, given the value of the camera you might be carrying in it, or the pain of breaking a lens or camera in the middle of a trip . . . Well worth the investment.
My Nikon Z6 with 24 - 70 mm zoom lens fits perfectly. The pod offers pretty good protection. It feels like it would protect the camera from more bangs and bumps, and perhaps a drop from a few feet. I recently took a trekking trip through Nepal and Bhutan. On more occasions than I like to remember, I felt my pod encased camera clank against rocks, chairs, tables, etc. It survived unscathed. Good job Hyperlite.
Sony A7RV fits the large perfectly
Recently tried many holster-style bags sold by the large camera web sites and either cheap construction or too many frills or bad fit. The HMG Camera Pod meets my needs perfectly and fits my Sony A7RV with a variety of lens including the 24-105/f with hood extended. The Pod is wide enough to grab the body. Zippers work well.
I typically hike using a capture clip and am using the Pod as a padded bag for stowing my camera in my pack but will see if I like having the pod connected in front to either shoulder strap
Looks Good So Far
I have yet to try it in the field but from what I have seen so far, I think it will be good. Well made - hey, it’s Hyperlite - and functional at least as much as I have assessed it. We have a trip planned for early December when I will see if it has the chops in the field.
