An Absolute Game Changer

I bought the large camera pod and it fit my Canon 6d Mark II and a 24-70mm lens. It fit perfectly. I even walked through a downpour with it strapped to my chest and I got no moisture inside the pod. It felt very nice wearing it on my chest, and helped disburse the weight of camera gear. I do wish there was more of a flap over the zipper for a little more piece of mind in the case of a sustained downpour, but in general I feel I could trust it for a few hours.

A great way to carry camera while wearing a backpack

I really like this bag to hold my camera while hiking. It is in a perfect spot to easily take out and get a photo quickly. Before this i had a peak designs capture clip. I did like it but it put a lot of strain on one shoulder strap therefore making your shoulder sore. The Hyperlite camera pod on the other hand is evenly supported across both straps and doesn’t create a lopsided load. The large size camera pod fit my a7iii with a 28-100 lens with the lens hood on. I hiked a lot with the pod not zipped so it was easier and quicker to take the camera out.

Perfect for my need but expensive

I have used this Camera pod with my Sony a6400 with a Tamron 17-70 zoom lens. The fit is perfect with the large Camera pod. In light rain it kept the camera dry. It is light and has just enough padding. Seems well made and can hang on my chest strap for my pack making my camera readily available. It is expensive but I found nothing else comparable.

Working well with Nikon Z6 II

The large camera pod mounts well on a 3400 Southwest backpack, especially with an S-carabiner to quickly attach or detach to the sternum strap. It fits a Nikon Z camera with a Z 50/1.8 S very well. It does not fit the Z 70-200/2.8 S, even alone without a camera attached. The large pod is an excellent fit for full-frame mirrorless cameras with small- to mid-sized lenses.

I took the camera up Pikes Peak in the pod, both secure inside the backpack, and mounted on the shoulder straps and sternum straps, with two or three carabiners. It was very comfortable and secure.

Camera Pod works well.

Have been looking for a camera holding solution for years, and after buying and trying different straps, twist connectors and other products, was impressed with the HMG Camera Pod on a recent hike and photoshoot in Aravaipa Canyon, Arizona. Worked well with my Canon R5 and RF24-70 lens. Had my RF100-500 and RF100 lenses in my HMG Daybreak, which has the HMG Cell Pocket attached for my Samsung Note20 Ultra. Can't wait to try the camera pod on my upcoming bikepacking trips, which has been my biggest pain for finding a great mirrorless/dslr holder.
