4400 Southwest
$425.00
If you’ve got a four-season trail habit, the 4400 Southwest has the volume needed for cold weather gear, food and fuel for a week, or additional travel tools like a packraft. Ideal for weekend, section, or thru hikes where resupply points are less frequent and/or bulkier equipment is required.
When the route is thick with vegetation, requires the occasional up and over immovable objects, and calls for “suck in your gut and shimmy through” type moves, the Southwest is the backpack you want up-close and personal. This pack family is made specifically for tough adventures that would rip most other ultralight-style packs to shreds.

Very minimal
very light weight, waterproof, fits well, not a lot of bells and whistles but you don't or won't need them; throw away your 5-6lb osprey or gregory pack and go lite. You'll enjoy your hiking so much more. Only one small thing...I'm not that organized when I hike and this pack is basically one large chamber so be sure to buy plenty of color coded stuff sacks to keep yourself organized.
Crazy Light
I knew this would be light but was still blown away. You could easily fit 7-10 days worth and still have room to spare. Also really like the Velcro enclosure for added security. Upgraded from an old NF pack and I’m never looking back.
Comfortable pack
I didn't know a backpack could be comfortable, but this one is. I'm up to about 25 pounds in it as I train, and will be curious if it maxes out first, or I do.
It was well fitted to my torso.
Durable and Light
Living in New Mexico we to a lot of section hiking on the CDT , my niece recently completed the PCT and was visiting us , While showing her my gear she shuttered at the size and weight we were carrying and thought we were crazy lugging such large items at our age 66 and 65 . After showing us her gear setup we decided she was right and made the splurge to reduce our carry weight . I'm 6'- 3" 235lbs and opted for the Southwest 4400 since we are out for 6 - 7 days at times , Let me just say this pack is awesome !!! Out of the box the fit is perfect for my size , and by folding down I can adjust according to the gear I'm bringing. The best part ? I reduced my pack weight by 12lbs with this and other changes and now have happy feet and knees !
4400 Southwest
Brilliant backpack. Very light and comfortable and considering how light it is , it seems very robust. This is one thing that is worth paying the extra $ for if want to trim weight on your load whilst making minimum compromise.
