    Bag for everything

Took it ski mountaineering in Denali NP. Love it. The top roll and straps are brilliant simplicity. I even cinched the pack down to about 20 cl for a day tour.

I've pout this through the wringer

The best thing about this pack is the versatility - it will probably replace my backpacking backpack as the waterproofness is really good. I've taken it on Shasta, Whitney snow backpacking trips and while with the foam pad/ crampons/ and snowshoes it can be a tight fit all strapped to the outside (oh yea make the side crossover straps larger to be able to comfortably strap on snowshoes), it generally all holds if I split weight. Anymore than 3-4 days would be tough in the winter with this size pack though. I also used this pack on Mt Hood, Orizaba for day hikes - it compresses like nothing whereas I have a bunch of friends that had to carry summit bags. That's the best thing about traveling with it. I also had a bottle of wine break inside the bag (dumb mistake in airplane) and while it colored the bag and some of my gear, other things did not get that wet.

The only things I would ask is for short torso people, to have a larger size (I think someone else mentioned 5400/ 75L pack). An option to have small snack packs with more than just a phone (I bought the phone case AND and ***** pack that slides on the hipbelt cause I have loops - personally I still need more accessory things but that's cause I am a backpacker before mountaineer).

    Winter in the Whites

During a winter attempt on the Franconia Ridge in the Whites, this pack was bombproof in horrid weather and comfortable on an 8-hour day.

While this is a pack with many great qualities there are some things I would improve on. As a guide working in the PNW id love to see the prisim design in a 75L but with beefier shoulder straps and hip belt. Even then it would probably still be the lightest and potentially best in its size range.
