PRIMARY FEATURE SUMMARY
One of our three all-purpose backpacking models, this workhorse is designed for almost any backcountry activity, from on-trail hiking to the most demanding off-trail and all-season environments. Primary features include:
- Identical to Southwest/Windrider but with a mesh center exterior pocket and two solid-fabric side exterior pockets
- Two over the pocket compression straps for load security
- D-shaped flat bottom keeps pack upright while loading/unloading
- Roll-top closure with internal mesh sleeve & hydroport
- White pack is 50-denier DCH fabric, Black pack is 150-denier

Great backpack.
My new favorite
I own number of packs 25 to 70 liter, I purchased the Junction 40 this year for a Kilimanjaro climb in December.
I pretty much subjected this pack to a wide range of conditions, torrential rain, sleet, snow and it performed perfectly. The mesh pockets were very useful for drying things out and it was very handy to able to see and access the contents of the mesh areas
I utilized several size pods to maximize the interior space. The roll top was also useful for quick access to rain gear, puffy etc. All in all a very versatile work horse!
Just right
Well made, compact and it fits me just right, I think. I haven't had a chance to take it for a spin yet but everything fits. I'll be interested to see whether it rides as nicely as my Arc .
LOVE This Pack
I am 5'1, 120lbs. It's been difficult to find a pack that fits my torso but with all the room I could need for a 5 day backpacking trip to a 7 day international vacation. This pack is seemingly indestructible. The external webbing is surprisingly durable and the main storage being very waterproof and easily accessible. I usually have a lot of critiquing of the products I use being that I'm much smaller and I feel companies eliminate a lot of desirable features to make it fit, but not Hyperlite! I love this pack!
I have the Small, my partner is 6'2 and has the Large - both fit well in the overhead compartment on planes - huge plus!
