Love It!

I actually waited quite a while for the Daybreak to be released in white. I live and hike in the Sonoran Desert and having a black pack is like putting your gear in a solar cooker and strapping it to your back. Not good!! The pack is just the right size for my day hiking use. I’ve also been using it for training by loading it up with 25lbs and getting out on trails. My old day pack could never carry 20+lbs without pain but the Day Break handles it no real problems.

Another Amazing Product from HMG

After having such tremendous success with my 3400 Southwest pack (and several add-ons), the Daybreak Pack is the third major HMG product I elected to put into my ultralight backcountry exploration quiver and I could not be happier with the decision. It is incredibly light and extremely durable (as are all other HMG products) thereby making it my instant go-to pack for daily alpine pursuits. No other daypack I have tested shares the total package of the Daybreak: comfort, durability AND ultralight. I highly recommend the Daybreak for anyone interested in entering the world of ultralight adventuring.

Great pack for warm weather day hikes or fast winter ascents

Great lightweight pack for warm weather day hikes. I have used it for about a year and it has effective for me on 30+ mile day hikes as well as short, winter ascents in 30F+ temperatures when carrying a lot of extra layers are not needed.

It's extremely customizable - there are tons of attachment points that allow you to build out your own system on top of the standard pockets and shock cord (a key feature I look for in any bag I use).

It's water resistant, but not waterproof. That said, I've been out with it in heavy downpours and it's held up well. Combine it with some dry sacks and you'll be in pretty good shape.

It's durable - I've put it through a lot of abuse (mileage, bushwhacks, & scrambling on rough rock) and it's held up well overall - some light abrasion but no rips, tears or notable damage.

Overall, I highly recommend this pack.

Pros:

• Big, roomy & comfortable - You can fit a lot in this bag and it still wears comfortably.

• Outer pockets (side & front) offer a ton of flexibility for carrying items - water bottles & filtering gear in the summer, snowshoes in the winter.

• Shock cord system & attachments also provide tons of options for lashing gear and adding on your own mods - poles, spikes, etc...

Wish list:

• Larger inner pocket: The little zipper pocket is nice but I wish it was a little larger/deeper so I could stash more critical items safely.

• Hip Belt: Belt provides ample support but wish it has some stash pockets or (similar to other Hyperlite…
