LIGHT, COMPACT & BRIMMING WITH OPTIONS

The Echo 2 Shelter System is an incredibly innovative system that provides protection against the elements for up to two backpackers. You won’t find a lighter option with this much protection. The Echo II works like a traditional fully-enclosed tent, but weighs much less. It includes a tarp, a detachable no-see-um mesh bug bivy insert with bathtub floor to keep out ground water and insects, and a detachable vestibule for protection from rain and wind. We utilize Dyneema®Composite Fabrics (formerly Cuben Fiber), the strongest, lightest and most weatherproof fabric available in outdoor gear. You won’t have to think about whether your ultralight shelter is up for the challenge of your thru-hike, multi-day alpine climb or backpacking trip we’ve found the optimal balance of strength, weight and performance for you. More generously sized than an ultralight one-person tent or bivy with plenty of room for two in a pinch.

Includes the Echo 2 Tarp, Echo 2 Insert, Echo 2 Beak, & X-Large Drawstring Stuff Sack for storage.

    Versitile!

I have not had the opportunity to use it in the field yet but from my backyard set up it appears to work well. You can use just the tarp, half tarp with insert for stargazing or full set up. Very sturdy when all stakes are placed. Excited to use this for thru hiking on the PCT and as a weekend warrior lightweight tent!

    Hyperlite tent

I’ve only had it out for a single night so far. The weight is as expected. Ease of set up is also as expected—no problems. I did not use the ‘beak’ but it appear to be simple as well. I’m satisfied so far. I cannot wait to get to the mountains and try it ‘for real’.

    Superlight Bikepacking Tent!

I used this tent several times last summer Bikepacking. It was super easy to set up, very weatherproof (I had rain and wind) and comfortable to spend time in. I bought the rota locura poles and they worked awesome.

    Waxing moon

makes it difficult to sleep. Maybe if you put blinds on the sides it would help keep out that nasty moonlit sky. Moon.... moooooon... sounds like I’ve got a new favorite word!

Thru hiked the AT with this in 2013, using it to thru hike PCT in 2019

You cannot beat the spaciousness of this tent, especially for it's light weight. I am 5'9" and find it very long. I can put my entire pack at the bottom and still have room. If I sit near a pole I can sit upright but otherwise it is on my head. That's okay because when I am in it I just want to sleep. The bathtub sides keep rain splatter off of you while the ample netting stops condensation. Get the lightweight hook stakes, they are so easy to insert into the ground, can be used to dig your cat hole instead of carrying a spade, and are strong...we never had one bend like others we used. The vestibule left enough space for our dirty boots and poles. We left them outside the tent every night. The more you put it up the faster you get. So I have had it for 5 years and it is still in good shape. I have used it many times since my AT hike, even on the CDT for a few weeks. It has been used in hail, downpours, snow and hot summers. As an avid and regular long distance hiker I highly recommend this tent. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
