Our preferred pack for backpacking in dense, heavily wooded trails in the roughest, toughest climates.
OUR CLOSE QUARTERS TRAIL PACK

The 2400 Southwest keeps you honest about packing smart and efficiently on weekend or section hikes where the supplies you may need to replace along the way are never too far out of reach.

When the route is thick with vegetation, requires the occasional up and over immovable objects, and calls for “suck in your gut and shimmy through” type moves, the Southwest is the backpack you want up-close and personal. This pack family is made specifically for tough adventures that would rip most other ultralight-style packs to shreds.

Great pack

I finally purchased a 2400, and it will be my go to 1-3 pack this summer. Fits well, and rides right on my hips and shoulders, which is important to me. As a nice plus, the versatility is outstanding. Proper sizing is key on this..

Love it!

It's light, looks great when folded down, and holds a lot of gear when expanded. Great backpack!

Plain and Simple Excellence

I hiked the CDT with this pack and really don’t have much bad to say. It has everything you need or want: nice support, great fit, plenty of space, and the outer pockets are perfect.

2400 Southwest

The 2400 Southwest is lightweight and water-proof. In addition, i found the design to be minimal (that's good) and with just the right number of straps to secure everything. The size is just large enough for a 2 night/3 day trip. It contained all my late winter gear (tent, sleeping bag and pad, stove, bare boxer bear canister, and a few spare clothes) plus a small tripod, camera body, and two lens. With all my gear, the roll-top enclosure still gets two rolls and then secured with the 3 straps. I just used it last week to backpack around the Virgina Triple Crown Loop and found it very comfortable and a good fit on my back.

Greatness

I really like this pack. Lightweight and comfortable to carry. Very well Made with durable material. I like the simple design that doesn't have a lot of unnecessay packets, molle webbing, or straps for lashing gear on the outside. This is just a straight forward, sweet pack that can be used anywhere.
