      Excellent, Lightweight, Well Designed

This is a tremendously well-designed pack. Wish I had this years ago!!! Thank you so much for making this in the USA!!!

Used on Ap Trail a few times and will use it out west in a few months. Chose this size (4400) for long intervals between resupply and to use in shoulder seasons needing more room. Would be a Number 1 pick for Philmont Boy Scouts for its large volume (when they have to carry lots of extra). Chose Black for durability.

Best things I like: lightweight BUT comfortable; no pack cover required; ability to roll down for smaller size as you "eat off" several days of food; ability to easily fit bear canister in the pack (versus trying to squeeze it in); mesh pockets for keeping things dry and accessible (use the other model if you want to avoid tearing/snagging); Y strap, pseudo load-lifter; pocket for bladder; side pockets that stay relatively dry. What are best accessories: shoulder pockets (outstanding for phone, compass-old school for fog, trees, SPOT, etc.); extra strap kit to keep external items from flopping around; pods to keep things extra dry, organized. What I would like to be modified: an internal small pocket for keys (mentioned in other reviews-could be an accessory); water bottle strap specifically designed for the shoulder strap to carry 1 Liter bottle; HIGHER SIDE POCKET BY ABOUT 1-2 INCHES (to keep bottles from sliding out as you bend over) OR A BUNGIE CORD ON SIDE POCKETS.

Additional Recommendation: You should offer this and other…

      Great pack

I absolutely love this pack. I own the 3400, it was not quite big enough for this hike with all my winter gear. The 4400 exceeded my expectations.

Ends all debates about best pack.

This pack (Windrider 4400) is amazing. It blows away all 3 of my previous long range packs...it's not even close. The weight alone savings is the main thing, but when you add in the water proof capability all debate ends. I have used this pack in extreme cold and it met and exceeded my expectations.

      Chicago Basin 37.6mi Trip

I recently purchased the 4400 Windrider Pack directly from Hyperlite. I bought this pack to replace my old Kelty pack. I took my first climbing/backpacking trip with 4400 Windrider recently to Chicago Basin, Colorado. Due to COVID-19 the normal train route was closed making a normally 14mi hike into an aprox 37.7mi hike. First my impressions of the pack. The pack is extremely well made with not a hint of shoddy craftmanship. Each seam is well stitched - triple stitched and tape seamed. The Dyneema fabric is just simply bullet proof. The fabric will no doubt hold up to the point of a lifetime worth of a abuse I would say. Dyneema is so indestructible that I believe no amount of rock abrasion and abuse of the pack will put a dent into the Dyneema fabric. Further, I don't even see how Dyneema could be torn or become frayed period - its that tough. Every part of the pack exudes the evidence of real world testing before public release of the product. This is a pack well engineered by real world use, but with careful attention taken to keep the pack as light as possible - maybe too light read below. The quality craftmanship of the pack is evidence of this. One can tell that every detail of the pack is not only well crafted, but well tested. POSTIVES: In addition to the craftmanship of the pack, I found that the lumbar support and hip belt systems were exactly matched to my back's natural contour. The fit of the lumbar and belt system is so well done that I didn't even need to use…
