OUR MOST VERSATILE, LONG TRAIL PACK

The versatile 3400 Junction allows you to keep your options open when it comes to packing for a big weekend, multi-day section hikes, thru hikes, or to meet the gear demands of changing seasons and environments. Ideal when resupply points are less frequent and/or for equipment flexibility is needed. When the extra volume is not in use, the 3400’s top can roll down enough to make the overall size of the pack similar to the 2400, but that additional space can come in pretty handy when you need it.

For hikes measured more by changes in climate zones and geographical features than distance, the Junction offers the ultimate versatility required to meet those demands.

Great hip pockets, great expandability, and love the big mesh pocket

My favorite aspects of this pack:

- Rain resistance, and even some resistance to mid-torso-depth wading for brief periods.

- Tough, tough, tough material.

- Expandability/contractability with the roll-top closure and top/side straps.

- The hip belt pockets are easy to use and rain resistant (but less dunkable than the main body, in my experience).

- The big, center mesh pocket on the back is incredibly versatile and helpful.

I really can't think of anything I would change about it. I've taken it out both on the east coast and in Utah, and it performed better than expected in both places.

Trip on AT

Really liked this pack. Nothing bad to say. Lightweight. Keeps my stuff dry and packed up tight. Easy access to gear , phone or snacks on the waist belt. Pretty convenient mesh pockets to keep waterbottles/stuff and areas to hang gear to dry. 100% recommend for a backpacking trip of any length

Perfect Adventure Racing Pack

I was noticing a lot (most) of the top teams in adventure racing were carrying Hyperlite packs - for good reason! The capability of the pack to go from 10lbs to 40+ lbs without a hiccup is absolutely incredible, especially in such an ultralight design. The rolltop of the 3400 makes it suitable for short 12hr races to multiday expeditions, with the capacity to carry all the gear needed (packrafting, mandatory, food, 3L...). It's inherent waterproofness is also a major plus when it's riding in canoes or racing in the rain for a weekend. Hands down the best AR pack I've seen, and no doubt why you see them on the backs of pros!

A top choice pack!

I chose the junction 3400 for my long section hike of the AT. The lighter weights of my big three allowed me to carry a few comfort items. It proved the perfect size to carry everything and it is narrow enough to allow me to scurry around and/or under fallen trees and other trail issues after storms. A forever favorite of mine!

Most versatile pack out there

Bought this one for my wife after she fawned over mine for the last few months. We took it out for its first little shakedown and, to no one’s surprise, it performed beautifully. You know what you’re getting when you buy from Hyperlite and we’re both extremely satisfied to be using their equipment. Now I’m slowly replacing all our other sil nylon stuff like dry bags with dyneema. Love their products and looking forward to getting more!
