Great Bare Bones Pack
I'm not into all the frills of some of the other packs out there. This pack has exactly what it needs and nothing more. Super light!

Best Ice Pack Ever!!!
Received this pack for my birthday, and just in time for my trip to Ouray. The pack worked flawlessly, both in the Ice Park and in the backcountry. The pack fits wonderfully, and was without unanticipated restrictions. My partner was really impressed. Looks like he'll be getting one soon.

Favorite "Go To" Alpine Pack
I've been using the 3400 Ice Pack for three Winter Seasons now and it's hands down my favorite Ice/Alpine pack. I was an initial hard-sell on roll-top packs, I like my separate storage, however this pack has completely converted me. It's been with me on multiple continents and has held up far better than many of my other packs, even though it's a "light-weight" pack. Well done Hyperlite....

Rainier

Pretty awesome. Love the minimal aspect. Carried picket, rope, and 30lbs of other stuff on rainier well. Went with it to be able to use as a super light day pack and it’ll be awesome when the New England ice comes in. 1 star off for the bungee. It’s ok but seems overly thick for crampons.

Worse than I remembered

I used a Hyperlite Windrider on a few thru-hikes 2016-2018 and I didn't love it, but the fact that I could use it on more than one thru-hike indicates a measure of durability. This is clearly not the case with their bags anymore. It still carries horribly and after a 6 day ski trip, there are so many holes in the side of my brand new bag.

I got holes on the the bottom of my old bag from general wear and tear, but these holes doesn't even make sense. I was either skiing, skinning, or carrying my skis A-frame in a way that should have covered the place that developed holes, so I really don't get it. The only option is that some tree branches snagged while schwacking, and if this $400 bag can't even withstand some tree branches then what's even the point?

I'd hoped to use this bag packrafting as well but with all these holes it's pretty much only good as an overpriced drag bag. Order your Alpine Luddites bag now so you'll have it by next season.

Fast n Light!

Bought this pack for 2-3day alpine pursuits this climbing season. After a shakedown this has replaced 2of my other packs….extremely versatile if you like moving fast and have flexibility for 1-3+ day pursuits.

Great Bag

Although I havent gotten to use it in the field yet, it feels better fully loaded (and then some!!) than my previous pack fully loaded. Very excited to get out in the next few weeks and use it on a hike.
