The update I needed.
I have the older V2 Ice pack with the tiny pockets that only worked with the belt undone. This is the upgrade I needed, and the pockets work great with this.
I got the small size to go on my medium pack to keep things out of the way, and it still fits great on my 31" waist. Now I can keep the other one configured to pull my polk sled when needed (which it does well with the loops inside those pockets.
Not available when needed.
The belt is not the problem. When I was thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail, I lost enough weight and needed a replacement belt and could not get any return communication from customer support and I never received the replacement belt until after completion of my hike and had been home for a couple of months.
Hip belt
Fairly comfortable and lightweight. My pack has Velcro on opposite side of belt & therefore belt Velcro was not usable to me.
Zipper closed position could be more optimally placed. Easy to not fully close and potentially lose small items.
It's the details that make the difference.
Even with items we take for granted, the detailed and thoughtful design is so appreciated. The removable hipbelt is thin and light, yet covers enough surface area to provide amazing support in comfort. The low profile affords free movement without feeling there is a huge hipbelt on. The pockets are generously volumed. I wished all of my other purpose built packs had the same design and workmanship.
Dual gear loop replacement belt for Ice Pack 3400
Great to be able to swap belts on my 3400 ice pack one with pocket for hiking and ski touring, and one with gear loops only for climbing and anything with a harness. Reasonably priced too. Removes easily and attaches securely. Awesome accessory.
