DISTANCE. EFFICIENCY. COMFORT. STOKE.

The UNBOUND 40 is the new benchmark for thru-hikers and avid adventurers. This ultralight pack uses 100% waterproof Dyneema Composite Fabrics and is ready for the roughest, toughest adventures. Front and bottom dual-entry Dyneema Stretch Mesh pockets keep your gear protected and organized. Adjustable aluminum frame stay helps distribute the load to the removable padded hip belt.

BEST PRACTICES

The roll top design provides excellent compaction and water-tightness but means that pack organization is key.

  • Place lighter, less mission critical items (sleeping bag, pad, dry layers) near the bottom.
  • Load bulky, heavier items (food, cookware, electronics) below the shoulder straps and above the hip belt. Note: One internal frame stay distributes weight to the hip belt and helps support your pack.
  • Keep quick grab items closer to the top of the bag (rain gear, mid-layer).
  • Locate frequently used gear in the hip belt pockets or daisy chain to the outside of the pack.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

MAINTENANCE

Periodically check your backpack fabric, pockets, straps, clips, and adjusters for signs of stress or tears and repair any damage before continued use.

CLEANING

Take the time on a dry, sunny day to spot-clean any areas that need it. A soft damp cloth and a mild soap (non-detergent and non-oil based soaps work well, do not bleach). Air-dry your pack by leaving it out to hang-dry. Make sure your pack is completely dry before long term storage.

STORAGE

Store your pack in a dry place, and with minimal fluctuation in temperature if possible.

Refer to the product information pages for feature videos that can help you through the process.

Familiarize yourself with set up for best results and for avoiding potential damage to your Hyperlite Mountain Gear products.

INTENDED USE

The UNBOUND 40 is an ultralight pack designed for multi-day backcountry adventures.

The UNBOUND 40 is NOT a dry bag. Take precautions to prevent gear from getting wet.

To ensure pack contents remain dry regardless of weather conditions, we recommend pairing your pack with our Pods and Stuff Sacks to organize internal contents and create an additional layer of protection.
