Start a Return or Exchange

Quick Overview of Our Return Policy:

  • New, unused, still-in-the-package products can be returned or exchanged up to 30 days from the purchase date.
  • Extended holiday returns available for purchases between our Black Friday sale and December 31st (until the end of January of the following year).
  • Tried it and didn't like it? Contact us – we'll see how we can help on a case-by-case basis.
  • For returns/exchanges of new, unused items, all packaging for third-party products must be undamaged and acceptable for resale.
  • Returned items will be inspected. Lightly used items may be subject to a 20% restocking fee.
  • Return Shipping Cost: All customers are responsible for the cost of return shipping, which varies by package size and origin.
    • Domestic (U.S.): We provide a prepaid return label when you use our online platform. The cost of the label will be deducted from your refund.
    • International: You are responsible for arranging and paying for your own return shipping with the carrier of your choice.

Our Simple & Uncomplicated Refund Policy:

If you know anything about us by now, you know we like things to be simple, uncomplicated, and efficient. Our return policy is no different.

New & Unused Returns/Exchanges

Something unexpected came up, and you can’t do your thru hike, or your job relocates you to a sprawling urban area – we get it. Things happen, and we don’t want you to be saddled with gear you can’t use. New, unused, still-in-the-package products can be returned or exchanged up to 30 days from the purchase date. (If you’ve purchased your product from one of our authorized dealers, you'll have to reach out to that dealer for a return or exchange.)

Extended Holiday Returns

For purchases made between our Black Friday sale and December 31st, we offer an extended return period until the end of January in the following year, provided all other criteria are met. This allows you more time to consider your purchase and make exchanges if needed.

Tried It and Didn't Like It?

If you’ve tried out the gear you purchased and it’s just not working out for you, or the fit is off, etc., let’s talk. As adventurers ourselves, we know there’s nothing worse than being miles out with a pack that doesn’t feel right. On a case-by-case basis, we’ll do what we can to get you squared away and off on the right foot.

Refund Policy Terms

As part of our Refund Policy, you will be asked to agree to the following:

  • I acknowledge that Hyperlite Mountain Gear’s refund policy allows that new, unused, still-in-the-package products can be returned or exchanged up to 30 days from the purchase date. All packaging for third-party products (e.g., sleeping pads, cook and hydration systems, headlamps) must be undamaged and acceptable for resale.
  • The product(s) I am returning or exchanging will be in new, unused condition and will be inspected by Hyperlite Mountain Gear upon receipt. If the product(s) show(s) signs of light use, a 20% restocking fee may be deducted from my refund at the discretion of Hyperlite Mountain Gear. Products that do not meet these conditions may not qualify for a refund and will not be returned to me.
  • I am responsible for contacting Hyperlite Mountain Gear prior to submitting my return or exchange with any questions about the refund policy.

Warranty

If the Hyperlite Mountain Gear product you got from us is defective, our warranty covers it for one year from the date of purchase.
