Made of 100% waterproof Dyneema® Composite Fabric (formerly Cuben Fiber), serves as an excellent waterproof barrier between you and the elements. Kost wat, maar dan heb je ook wat!
Replaces an old Friend
Unfair to rate this without actually using it but with 50+ years of experience under tarps and pyramid style tents this is a very welcomed addition to this senior's bivy kit. It's now packed in a 2200 cubic inch pack that is at 19 pounds (no food and water). With 2-3 days of food is added going to be around 23-24 pounds making possible some fully contained bivys and one perfect survival pack if heading out in questionable weather. I'm used to an 8' x 8' foot-print which is perfect for 2-people on extended trips. Now solo - the Ulta-Mid 2 gives me similar square footage but at a 9' X 7' configuration which actually nice as it provides a bit more head space when your pack is placed at the foot of your thermorest. 7' wide it is still space for 2 people plus enough between sleeping bags to get the stove out and begin dinner inside the shelter. This kit is virtually featherlite at 1.2 pounds (tent only). You just don't feel the weight. My old Chounard and BD Mega-mids (2) ran 3.5 pounds (8'x8'). A more recent Mega-lite came in at 2.5 pounds but a smaller foot-print at 7'X7' which made it harder in packs. This version at 2 pounds (with poles) is amazing given it matches the space provided by my older Mega-mids. A welcomed product for a guy who is getting up there in wisdom.

The perfect four season tent for all occasions.
I love how much room and there is without sacrificing cost of weight. I may end up upgrading to a full floor insert one day.
