The versatile Junction 55 allows you to keep your options open when it comes to packing for a big weekend, multi-day section hikes, thru hikes, or to meet the gear demands of changing seasons and environments. Ideal when resupply points are less frequent and/or for equipment flexibility is needed. When the extra volume is not in use, the 55’s top can roll down enough to make the overall size of the pack similar to the 40, but that additional space can come in pretty handy when you need it.

For hikes measured more by changes in climate zones and geographical features than distance, the Junction offers the ultimate versatility required to meet those demands.

Awesome for lighter loads

For what it's designed for awesome. Super light, simple, love the big mesh storage, water bottle holders could be a bit fatter to accommodate more items; a few grips here and there, but overall a well thought-out and implemented pack.

I really put this thing through its paces with 70+ pounds backcountry skiing at Mt Baker, WA. I know this is not what its designed for but I was a little disappointed that some of the straps started to tear and the pack itself sustained a few abrasion holes.

Comfortable and extra light

I replaced my Gregory 55l with this pack and can somehow fit 30% more gear. This pack has a lot of room and is very light and comfortable to carry.

Hyperlite junction 55 backoack

What an awesome backpack! Ultralight, sturdy material and very sturdy bottom. Waterproof! Easily holds all my stuff. I’m switching from Osprey backpack at 3.5 lbs to the H M G 55 at 2.1 lbs. simple but very effective backpack and can’t wait till May to hit the Appalachian Trail with it again!
