3400 Junction
Starting at $379.00
The versatile 3400 Junction allows you to keep your options open when it comes to packing for a big weekend, multi-day section hikes, thru hikes, or to meet the gear demands of changing seasons and environments. Ideal when resupply points are less frequent and/or for equipment flexibility is needed. When the extra volume is not in use, the 3400’s top can roll down enough to make the overall size of the pack similar to the 2400, but that additional space can come in pretty handy when you need it.
For hikes measured more by changes in climate zones and geographical features than distance, the Junction offers the ultimate versatility required to meet those demands.

Good, bad, and ugly
I’ve had it out on a long trail for about 10 days now; here are my initial thoughts. I love the weight of the pack and the roll top design, which allows for adjustment due to changing food volume after reapplies. It carries 30 lbs very nicely. I also love the mesh pocket for stashing a damp shirt, etc and helping dry such items more quickly. The mesh pocket also works well for snacks, etc and provides convenient attachment points for things like a towel, a trowel, or a solar panel. Another great feature is the hip belt pockets-roomy and appropriately sized and positioned. It’s a high quality product. As for the”bad”, I added a shoulder strap pouch which was really essential for my use. Some sort of small pouch or compartment integral to the pack would be an improvement. As for the “ugly”, I’ve found just one, but it’s a significant one. Because of the waterproof dyneema fabric which rests directly against the wearer’s back, sweat accumulates, soaking my tshirt and shorts over the course of a day or a hot climb. Some sort of interface there would be a huge improvement.
Great pack
Haven’t used it yet, but stuffed a sleeping bag in to fill it up and it fits and feels great, very well made
3400 Junction Review
Hey Guys (that means you too, Sarah):
Amazing pack. Fits everything in compact style and makes a great place to rest your head when the Trail is just a little longer than you were thinking. Easy on the shoulders; long enough to make full use of your spine. Very tough material; black is perfect so you don't look like a neon sign when Night Hiking. 3 days on the Appalachian Trail in White Mountains - nothing hurts - I'm Estatic. Best Pack Ever!
Love it
I already have 2 good backpacks. I've taken them for more than 1000 miles of the PCT. I bought this bag for the subtle differences. I took it out for a 30 miles section in the San Jacinto area and I'm happy with it. The mesh is great, the fabric feels durable and waterproof. The hip pockets are actually big enough for items! Even a cell phone, altho I got the shoulder pouch which is the best.
So far so good
Nice lightweight pack that fits my narrow shoulders well.
