2400 Windrider
Starting at $349.00
The 2400 Windrider is the pack that super-efficient thru hikers and backpackers graduate down to when their kits are dialed, and the calories and fuel they need along the way are never too hard to find. Ideal for weekend or section hikes where frequent resupply points are available.
There’s a kind of classic image that comes to mind when you hear the word “hiking.” Dense green and brown forests with meandering rugged root-strewn trails lead to awe-inspiring hill and mountain panoramas, and rivers and streams lull tired explorers to sleep at the end or strenuous but rewarding days. These are the environments where the Windrider takes flight.

👍
Pack is awesome so far. I have hike 150 miles with it so far and all is well. I start the AT tomorrow morning and that will be the true test.
Good solid pack
I have used this pack for the past 3 years ! Love it ! It is my first ultra light pack . Since my base weight is around 6 lbs. Then being from south Florida adding 8 lbs of water and 2 lbs of food . I am always less than 20 lbs full load . I have had this pack up too 28 lbs on short over nights . I have been impressed at the comfort of this pack fully loaded ( I have a size medium ) . After caring a full padded and big hip belt pack for years I was a tad concerned about comfort. No concern at all the design of this pack is near perfection it is very comfortable the hiobelt the shoulder straps everything ! Love the big pockets outside and so will you !!! Excellent job !
Great pack for a weekend trip
Ultra-lite weight (less than 2 lbs.) pack yet at 40 liter size it can hold enough stuff for a weekend trip
2400 Windrider Review
I needed a new pack that was smaller. My gear is lighter and I'm older. I don't need to carry everything that my grandchildren 'need' but can't carry. I just received my Windrider pack. I have a custom made McKale dynemma pack that is now too big. I'm 78 years old. If anyone is going to pack the steak, potatoes, eggs, bacon for that first night and next morning on the trail before we start eating freeze dried food, it won't be me. With eight children and 29 grandchildren it has served me well.
I have always been dismayed by the 'commercial' packs on the market. For me, they add too much weight before you place the first item in them. They may be really comfortable in the store but out on the trail you begin to hate the sales person.
I've packed it pretty lightly once. Hiked the 2.9 mile hike up to the Wind Caves in Mesa Arizon. It is an easy trail that has a "Hard" rating. There is a good elevation gain but it is an easy trail.
The pack looks great. I like the waterproof fabric, it eliminates the need for a rain cover. I like to carry my wind/rain shell on the outside where it is easily accessible. I have a hammock system for shelter at the bottom, underquilt, sleeping bag, then clothes except for layering, food, Stove, Cook kit, etc. with the hammock tarp, hydration, first aid kit etc at the top.
it was under 30 lbs. Perfect for a multi-day hike.
So far, I appreciate that it doesn't have a huge padded waist belt, huge padded shoulder straps.
Since everyone's hips are…
