375-DENIER DYNEEMA®
COMPOSITE FABRIC

All of our ski packs are built with the burliest Dyneema Composite Fabric hybrid that we can get our hands on (currently). A 375-Denier woven-Dyneema face fabric instead of our more standard (50- or 150-Denier) Polyester offers over-the-top durability in all high wear areas on the sides and bottom of the pack. And at 5.0 oz/yd2, it's still wicked light.

MY FAVORITE PIECE OF OUTDOOR EQUIPMENT EVER.
Simply wonderful. I love the fit, the comfort, the durability and functionality of this pack. I love the solid, shiftless way it carries weight close to my center of mass, and the minimalist aesthetic with nothing extra, nothing out of place.

VERSATILE, LIGHT PACK.
I just returned from my first trip with this pack. I ski toured and ducked out of bounds at Big Sky, Jackson Hole, Teton Pass and Grand Targhee. The Prism has plenty of room for anything I need for a few days of hut trips. When I was skiing in-bounds with the pack and only needed the basics, I tightened the compression straps and lid down. The pacRead more about review stating Versatile, light packk gets very small and stays in place better than most packs out there. While boot packing, the A-Frame carry locks your skis in very tightly. While bootpacking, I moved my water bottle from the side pocket to the crampon pocket. Both were very convenient and worked well. I am very impressed with the versatility and structure of this pack. I have a couple hut trips left this year, and I'm excited to continue using this pack.

BOMBER – PURE AND SIMPLE
After a year of using this pack consistently for just about everything (high-altitude mountaineering, rock climbing, skiing, packrafting, backpacking, travel, work, etc...) I can conclusively say it is the best pack I've ever owned and will be my go-to for almost every occasion.

The craftsmanship and durability of this pack is clearly Read more about review stating Bomber - pure and simple a huge highlight. It is the second pack of the 2400 Ice Pack series I've owned and the Dyneema version, in particular, has withstood significant abuse. I have not had a single issue with this pack's durability and it has seen at least 150 days of use. Not to mention that in the past when I have had broken buckles and other small issues with my HMG packs, the customer service I've encountered has been astounding.

Regarding the function of this pack, it is exactly what I need and nothing more. I have a custom hipbelt with one side pocket and one side gear loop, its awesome for those days that I find myself carrying pickets or ice screws and I want extra space to rack-up when wearing my mountaineering harness. The addition of some minor bells and whistles of the Ice Pack versus its other models (Windrider, Porter, etc...) have been an asset for the kind of things I've used it for and I've always been able to fit what I need. Even day trips with a full whitewater packrafting setup (using a 2015 Kokopelli Nirvana) have been manageable with this pack when using the outside compression straps for paddles, etc...

There have been times where a larger version would be awesome (mostly with a packraft or excess mountaineering gear), so I hope to add one of the larger packs to my gear collection soon. That said, the simplicity of this pack has made me a more efficient and critical packer. If you've never used a minimalist (I call them 'tube style') pack before, you might find there is a learning curve for how to pack it well. Soon, however, I guarantee you will find yourself packing more efficiently and leaving those things you don't really need at home.

One final note: yes, it's white. It will get dirty. Get over it, a dirty pack is a well-loved pack.

SIMPLICITY. DURABILITY. UTLITY.
When I first tried on a HMG pack, I was shocked! It was loaded with more weight than I was carrying in my own pack at the time and it just sat so perfectly on my body. So, this is what an ultralight pack should feel like! What a dramatic difference switching packs has made on my thru hike. Simplicity, Durability, Utility. All in a pretty darn good-looking pack. Thanks, y'all!

AMAZING.
After speaking to a number of HMG owners including several thru-hikers, I knew I wanted an HMG pack due to their versatility, durability, and reputation. I was really torn between the Southwest and Windrider models - each seemed like it had potential pros and cons that the other did not possess. I wanted an external place to dry gear as on the Windrider, but was also concerned about the durability and snagging potential of the mesh side pockets on the Southwest. I was so delighted when I saw the Junction (55L) at Trail Days 2019. For me, this is the best of both worlds and I will be using this pack on my thru-hike attempt of the Appalachian Trail in 2020. It has already performed wonderfully on the Art Loeb Trail in NC while hiking up a very overgrown portion of trail with Rhododendron (no snags!). Amazing pack! Thanks HMG!
