The ultralight layer between you or your gear and wet ground.
EVEN MORE STRIPPED DOWN

A recent reorganization of our R&D room revealed a goodly amount of DCF11 (1.3 oz/yd2) that we decided would be perfect for those of you looking to establish some boundaries between yourself and a potentially clingy environment.

Built from the remnants of prototype projects and the like, we deconstructed and reconstructed a limited inventory of lightweight Ground Cloths that are perfect for keeping forest floor debris, sand, or saturated soil from getting too familiar with the bottom of your tent, gear you're laying out to dry inside or out of your floor-less shelter, or your sleeping bag if you're out in the open gawking at the galaxy.

This simple sheet of Dyneema® Composite Fabrics is even more minimal than our long standing and adventure-tested Ground Cloth, in that it's stripped of features like tie-out loops or reinforced corners. If you simply want to tell nature, "You're coming on too strong," this will clear up any confusion.

Great piece of equipment

Nice ground cloth. Plenty big enough to put my sleeping bag and pad on with room to spare. When I just want to use my Ultimid without the insert when there’s no bugs, this is perfect. It’s pricey for sure for a ground cloth but I’m sure it will last a long time and it’s quite lite. Like all the other HMG items, it’s made to last.

DCF11 Ground Cloth

I’m pleased with this product; I bought it because somehow in Korea, mountain campsites always seem to be rough underfoot, and I figured the DCF11 should be able to deal with it. It’s well made, like the other HMG products I have and use; my only beef is that in my opinion it should have 6 simple Tie-outs, at the corners and mid-edge of the long sides. In windy conditions, ground sheets under tents will move if not secured, which can be a pain if you have left your tent for some hours. I plan to add them, possibly with some stick-on reinforcing material, though that is likely not needed.

It Works!

It’s very light. It’s tough. It works. Ground cloths are very simple. They keep your gear clean and dry—or they don’t. This one does just fine. It’s perfect for me when I’m going light.
