OUR CLOSE QUARTERS TRAIL PACK

If you’ve got a four-season trail habit, the 4400 Southwest has the volume needed for bulkier cold weather gear, food and fuel for a week, or additional travel tools like a packraft. Ideal for four-season, weekend, section, or thru hikes where resupply points are less frequent and/or bulkier cold weather gear is required.

When the route is thick with vegetation, requires the occasional up and over immovable objects, and calls for “suck in your gut and shimmy through” type moves, the Southwest is the backpack you want up-close and personal. This pack family is made specifically for tough adventures that would rip most other ultralight-style packs to shreds.

The company fixed the issue with my pack

The spacing was off originally with the shoulder straps. I sent it back and they built me a new 4400 Southwest. No complaints after.

    Best pack ever

I have taken this pack into the mountains and canyons leading groups of students for 2-4 weeks. The accessibility, weight, comfortability, and durability is top of the class. I don't think I'll switch to any other pack for a long time. Keep up the excellent work!

    Amazing high quality built backpack

I have the 70L 4400 Southwest and I cannot recommend this backpack enough. I have hiked extensively with this pack and I can say that it is the most comfortable backpack I have had. I was a little worried about the simplicity of the design and how it would handle weight on my back and hips, and it has performed amazingly in each trip. I have had it for several 5 day long hikes and the weight is properly distributed onto the legs (not to mention how light the pack is). I have also had rain and snow storms and the backpack stays dry under every condition. The strength of Dyneema is impressive, it can withstand branches scraping on the backpack and a severe beating like the best of them. It is quite a lot of money to spend on a backpack, but for the durability and advantages that it has, it is worth saving a bit more and buying it than going for a lesser quality one or more mainstream one (Osprey, Deuter, Gregory, etc.). Hyperlite has done a beautiful job in designing this bag!.
