PRIMARY FEATURE SUMMARY
One of our three all-purpose backpacking models, this workhorse is designed for almost any backcountry activity, from on-trail hiking to the most demanding off-trail and all-season environments. Primary features include:
- Identical to Southwest/Windrider but with a mesh center exterior pocket and two solid-fabric side exterior pockets
- Two over the pocket compression straps for load security
- D-shaped flat bottom keeps pack upright while loading/unloading
- Roll-top closure with internal mesh sleeve & hydroport
- White pack is 50-denier DCH fabric, Black pack is 150-denier

Fabulously lightweight but Not water repellant as advertised. Hyperlite makes a big deal about their gear being weatherproof. Taped seams and water near water proof construction. I hiked 8 hours in mist and light rain and the items at the top of the bag were perfectly dry and at the bottom of the bag were soaking wet including my down jacket. Definitely needed a rain fly over the pack. Feels like the advertising was misleading.

It's an amazing pack extremely light and carry my weight very well.
Lightweight! Comfy so far. Not Bearikade-friendly
So far so good on some local short test hikes. Carries the weight well. Seems more voluminous than 55L. Very light compared to my old faithful Osprey Aether. One issue (I should have measured before purchasing)- the Bearikade bear cannister does not fit horizontally in the bottom- have to stand it up in the pack. I am concerned that this may not ride well on a long hike with full pack- tbd.
