OUR BUSHWHACKING, NO-TRAIL, CANYONEERING PACK

Focus on finding your way through the thick of things with the burly 3400 NorthRim and its capacity to carry everything you need to thrive on multi-day, off trail backpacking missions. Ideal for weekend, section, or thru hikes where resupply points are less frequent and/or for equipment flexibility. When the extra volume is not in use, the 3400’s top can roll down enough to make the overall size of the pack similar to the 2400, but that additional space can come in pretty handy when you need it.

The act of creating trails that help people connect places has been an intrinsic part of human behavior from pre-recorded history to present day. For that, we offer a very heartfelt “Thanks!” There are those folks however that would prefer to get to wherever “there” is the hard way, and for them, we offer the NorthRim.

Exceeds Expectations

I have been jonesing for a new UL bag to replace my ~8 year old gossamer gorilla and my wife just got me this one for my bday (I've moved from east coast to west and replaced long distance trail w/ high routes in the Sierras) and this bag is everything. Super comfortable, HUGE internal storage capacity, and built like a tank.

I had extremely high expectations and was preparing myself to be a little let down, but holy heck, this bag is immediately my favorite piece of kit.

Great Backpack and Wonderful Customer Service

I love the North Rim backpack. Its large enough for the JMT but can scale down a bit for weekends if needed. I can fit my bear canister inside, along with the sleeping bag and extra cloths. I bought the bottle carrier accessory which is nice. Overall a great purchase.

So the item is exactly what I wanted and needed, but the customer service I experienced was stellar. When the shipping company had an issue with getting me the package, the team worked with me to help resolve the problem so that I could "get back on the trail ASAP." I really appreciate how the situation was handled, especially how Dylan kept me informed on how things were progressing.

Thanks Hyperlite!

Extremely durable for its weight

Did 38 miles of bushwhacking last weekend, beating up the pack on trees, the ground, and ice. The pack held up perfectly with no punctures (despite poking it with many branches as I worked my way through them - there was so much stick debris in the outer pockets that I couldn't see the bottoms). It really shows no signs of wear. As it was a winter trip, I was carrying almost 30 lbs of gear and food and it carried well in this pack. I expect many more years of heavy abuse out of this pack and doubt it would look any worse for wear.

It’s a culture

My crew and I now have “matching” hyperlite packs and various levels of use and we love it. Some have been put through their paces and some are brand new We just finished a bike packing trip, and man was the bag so comfortable. It was secure on my back even on black bike trail décents. Best part is the fabric doesn’t absorb the sweat and smell bad. The front pocket was very secure and easy to access between team mates. Slight issue is the water bottle slot. It can get quite difficult to slot in bottles or take out especially when everything is jammed packed and the fabric doesn’t stretch enough. Occasionally the bottles will drop out on some gnarly bike terrain. But all in all great product

Best Hyperlite there is!

I am a little of a rucksack connoisseur. I am one of those people who will buy a specific bag for a specific need. I even own two other hyperlites. Since I purchased the 3400 Northrim I have not used any other pack. The 3400 has all the space you need for 3-4 day trips. Also the outside pockets are everything I was missing from my other hyperlites! Now you have a place to store water bottles, crampons (not a big fan of the Bungee cord bungee cord system on my other hyperlite) water filters, etc, without having to get into the main pack. Also this ruck is so light and when you roll it tight it is not bulky at all, so much so I find myself just using it as my day pack. The outside pockets have more than enough room to store your day hike needs. This really is the ruck I always wanted. Also buy a 3400. Sometimes you need the space and it’s not any heavier than a 2400. Go 3400 and don’t look back!
