Hyperlite Steak Kit is Yummy

Just sprinkle a few Stakes around you tent or pepper the edges of your Tarp with them and you will have a strong environment stable enough for the roughest Mountain Chef in all of us.

Seriously, the stake kit is light and easy to push into hard pack rocky ground like we have here in Colorado without needing a hammer. You can start the stake with the palm of your hand and then push it in deep into the ground with your shoe or boot. No need for a hammer or a rock.

If you tie a permanent loop in the end of the stake, and have a permanent loop tied into your tent/ tarp tie down lines, it makes a very rapid connection without having to knot anything. Simply slide the stake loop over and up the tie down line, then tuck the stake tip into the tie down loop and pull back down until both loops lock within each other, then adjust your tensioner at the tarp end or tent end of the tie down. To remove the Stake, just reverse the process and store your stakes in a bag and in your POD.

Now you have more time to be the Mountain Chef instead of tying knots. Daisy chain your lose tie downs to your tarp or tent that are not in use for storage. Use of a Hensley Snake Skin makes your 8 x 10 tarp even faster to deploy with this method.

Rating on perceived quality and weight

I’ll use these on trail this summer and will then be able to properly review. The stakes seem extremely sturdy and fairly light so I like them so far.

Highly functional stakes at low weight

These match my set from MLD and excel for larger shelters, like my Ultramid 4. Easy to use. Just get some.
