Love the feel and dyneema
Well constructed, can’t wait to bring this out on the trail!
Roomy, bomb proof pack
Well constructed and roomy for a 17L daypack. Will last a long time and I love the extra side pockets.
Everyday adventure pack
Received the Daybreak as a gift from my wife......beautiful thoughtful wife who accepts my addiction to made in USA bags and gear. Since receiving it in December, I have used it everyday for my bike to work commute and other adventures such as splitboarding, skiing, and fly fishing. Rain, snow, sun, mud it doesn’t matter. This bag carries so well that I don’t know it is there. Bomber quality construction, lightweight, stylee form. This bag is a winner, and will be with me for a long time. Good job HMG!
Good for everything
I bought this day pack about 5 years ago for for the Coast to Coast Trail in England, and it was a great carry. As we were sleeping indoors, I was just carrying day stuff. Turned out to be a wonderful choice, and in wet England I certainly appreciated it being waterproof. I live in S. Utah, and it has been my regular day pack ever since for all kinds of hiking. It has held up very well to lots of off trail hiking through sharp vegetation, never had a puncture. My only suggestion would be to try to develop it in some color other than black, as it gets a bit warm in the southwest sun. Highly recommended.
Might be the near-perfect fly fishing pack ....
Fly fished with this little pack for the least several months. This is one of several "fishing" packs I have. I like this one the most ... Why? Not too large, pockets on the outside for water bottles, thermos, etc. Pouch for rain jacket or warming layer - that can also be used with ice axe attachments to hold an extra rod, elastic for compression or for lashing, stash-able waist straps. The inside is roomy and NOT stuffed with all kinds of useless pockets (on 2). In fact, I throw my waders over the top and lash them down when walking in ...
For winter, this packs easily fits 4 C&F large fly boxes, leader wallet, a thermos, GTX jacket, MSR cooker and fuel bottle, a small pot, a day's rations, extra warming top and bottom + socks, micro-cloth towel, a small sitting mat, emergency reflective blanket, maps, GPS, etc. -- all waterproofed of course. Beware that this pack is not waterproof, but DOES resist rain and water very well. If zipped up, will keep the water out for quick immersions. Also does well when standing hip-level/waist-level in the surf. This is not a rubberized waterproof roll top or one of the rubberized packs with a mongo-zipper (and all slick outside and inside), but the tradeoff is well worth it. In freezing rain, the zipper can freeze the pack shut. This pack would not be my choice for fishing from a small boat or kayak. But along the river or shore: an excellent cross-over between the heavier rubberized rucks (that kind off sag and blob around your back) and…
