ECHO I Ultralight Shelter System
Great for solo adventuring, distance hiking, lightweight backpacking, climbing, camping, cycling, kayaking or canoeing, the Echo I is an innovative, durable, and one-man ultralight shelter.
This ultralight shelter consists of three modular components: a durable Cuben Fiber tarp, a detachable mesh tent insert for 100% insect and ground water protection, and a detachable vestibule for wind and storm protection. Using all components together, the Echo I works like a traditional one-man tent at approximately half the weight. Echo Shelter Systems can be pitched almost anywhere in just minutes.

Simply put: awesome!
This tent system is so versatile. Whether you want shelter and privacy, or you want to feel like you're cowboy camping, this system has got you covered (pun intended). I loved just sleeping under the tarp while hiking the AT. When I slept in shelters I set up the meshed insert to protect against mosquitoes. The cuben fiber is really warm too. A few cold shelter nights I wrapped the tarp around my sleeping bag and stayed warm. Much more comfort and room than a bivy sack. (Posted on 9/15/11)

The Echo I is a wonderful shelter for the people who want one shelter for all kind of situations. Use only the tarp when you know there's going to be no bugs and wind, add the beak when you know it will be windy, and take the bug inner when the mosquito's are out. All three parts can be used on their own as well, and are of a great quality. (Posted on 9/12/11)

The Echo 1 shelter reflects top quality in both workmanship and materials used. The shelter is light, pitches tight and fast and provides great protection. Use just the tarp for ultra light trips and add the beak for trips requiring additional protection.
Mike was great to work with and very accessible. (Posted on 9/6/11)

I got my Echo 1 Shelter System and instantly was impressed with the weight (or lack there of) and the easy of set up. This shelter did it all on the A/T. It kept out rain, wind and bugs. The system is so flexible it will work on a over night trip or a 4 month journey.
